About NSC

  The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NSC) is the public organization affiliated to the National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA). Since its establishment in 1989, as the sole official TSO, the NSC has been providing technical support to the safety review on nuclear facilities throughout their full life cycle. Over the past years, the NSC has played a key role in supporting NNSA to ensure the nuclear and radiation safety in China. In order to adapt to the changing landscape, the NSC has been maintaining sufficient human, technical, organizational and financial resources in a dynamic manner.
  With the successive operation of facilities such as the Nuclear and Radiation Emergency Command Center, the HPR-1000 simulator, the Big Data Center, the Key Lab of Simulation Analysis and Verification, the Thermal Hydraulics Lab, the Lab for Verification of Nuclear Materials Corrosion and Protection Performance, the Lab for Risk Management and the Lab for Environmental Radiation Monitoring, the NSC has grown into the backbone of technical support to China's nuclear safety regulation and high-quality development of the nuclear industry by innovating the regulatory approaches through risk-informed regulation and software verification.Besides serving as the TSO, the NSC is also the premises for National R&D Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety Regulatory Technology, NNSA Center for Nuclear Accident Emergency Technical Support, Secretariat of National Expert Committee fo... more
